Basic criteria of APEC Engineer

Basic criteria

P.E.Jp who wishes to be registered as APEC engineer must;

(1) Have completed an accredited or recognized engineering education program, or be recognized as equivalent; and
(2)-1 Have demonstrated professional engineering competence for independent practice as stated in the Professional Engineer Competency Profile, Japan, and
(2)-2 Hold effective registration as Professional Engineer, Japan; and
(3) Have gained a minimum of seven years practical experience since graduation; and
(4) Have spent at least two years in responsible charge of significant engineering work, and
(5) Have maintained his/her continuing professional development at a satisfactory level.
(6)-1 Agree to observe the Code of Ethics for Professional Engineers, Japan formulated by IPEJ and the codes of professional conduct of any other jurisdiction within which he/she is practicing.
(6)-2 Agree to be individually accountable to his/her actions.
