Declaration of Professional Engineers

We, professional engineers, as persons worthy of being professionals with national licenses, shall observe the principles of conduct set forth herein, belong to the Institution of Professional Engineers of Japan, cooperate with each other to maintain and improve our qualities, and follow autonomous norms. By doing so, we declare that we will enhance the trust of society and contribute to the sound development of industry and the realization of a happy life for people.

[Principles of Professional Conduct]

  1. Possess knowledge and abilities appropriate for highly specialized technicians, constantly improve them in response to technological advances, and take responsibility for their own skills.
  2. To be responsible to our clients for the content and quality of our work, while complying with the confidentiality obligations imposed on us, and to work faithfully on our work.
  3. To take full account of the impact of our work on society and the environment, to deal with such impact in an appropriate manner, and to be responsible to society so that the safety and welfare of people and other public interests are not harmed.
