Condolence to the late Mr. Hiroshi TANAKA, Honorary Member of IPEJ
Mr. Hiroshi TANAKA, Honorary Member of IPEJ, (P.E., Mechanical Division) died at his age of 80, as the victim by the terrorism occurred in Dacca, Capital of People's Republic of Bangladesh, in the early morning on July 2, 2016.
I would like to extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to Mr. TANAKA as President of IPEJ.
Mr. TANAKA was caught into the terror incident while he participated in the researching work for Metro Dacca traffic improvement project of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), as the specialist of railway engineering. He had been involved in number of international cooperation projects and who was an authority of foreign business in IPEJ member.
He had been assigned as Deputy Chair, Mechanical Division for 6 years from 2007, and acting as the Executive member of the Division down to date, and he had been active to support continuous professional development for so long time.
He really had achieved for IPEJ widely and deeply through the activities as the member of Ethics Committee to deploy “Code of Ethics for Professional Engineers”, the member of Publicity Committee to plan & edit our monthly “PE” and the executive member of KANAGAWA Prefectural Branch for regional activities.
Mr. TANAKA had been nominated as the Honorary Member on 2015, with those achievements for IPEJ.
It is quite regrettable to lose such an active member, not only for Mechanical Division, but also for IPEJ. I really wish every member to take over the late Mr. TANAKA’s will for further growth and development of IPEJ.
As the end of my condolence, I would like to pray that the souls of victims by the incident, including Mr. TANAKA, may rest in peace and the other injured may recover soon.
